Is the Mage overly ideological, and did that lead to all our problems? We reckon so! This week we’re unpacking chapters 36-44 through the theme of ideology.
Agatha makes it very clear that she will not be a supporting character in… whatever this is. Penelope won’t leave Watford, either, even though her family is currently being raided by the Mage’s Men. Simon tells Baz about his mother’s visitation. Baz and Simon agree to work together, and then they do – they turn a dragon away from Watford! Lucy tells her story.

Here’s the ideology definition from Jen V’s story:
“Ideologies are patterned clusters of normatively imbued ideas and concepts, including particular representations of power relations. These conceptual maps help people navigate the complexity of their political universe and carry claims to social truth.”
